On W. Randolph Street, Avec' s warm, brown cedar interior makes for a comfortable dining experience. The wine bar offers 130 different wines from boutique vineyards across Southwestern Europe, from Southern France to the coast of Spain. The bottles range in price from $20-$90, and 30 of the wines may be served by the glass. Along with their prized wines, Avec serves Mediterranean classical food with Midwestern influences. Their menu is divided into sections: small and large plates, cheese and salumi. Avec does not take reservations, but you can get a head start with your wine sampling at the bar. Once seated, the chorizo-stuffed dates, a perfect blend of sweet and savory, are a must try on the small plates menu.
