After spending 50 seasons at Wrigley Field, the Chicago Bears settled into their new den, Soldier Field in 1971, where they have been playing ever since. Soldier Field opened in 1924 with the original name Municipal Grant Park Stadium. Not long after its inception, the stadium's name was changed to Soldier Field in honor of the American soldiers that fought in World War I. The 1920's classic Greco-Roman style exterior is a striking contrast against the more modernized, familiar interior, reminding fans that Soldier Field is representative of more than just the game of football.
