The Texas State Cemetery is the final resting place for Texas governors, senators, congressmen, legislators, judges and those who have impacted Texas's long history. From Vice President of the Republic of Texas General Edward Burleson to Stephen F. Austin, the Texas State Cemetery houses the graves of Texas's most significant figures. Though established in 1851, the Cemetery is beautifully manicured and the memorials are streamlined and well maintained. Tours of the Cemetery are available via the Visitor's Center should you wish to learn more about the history of the grounds.
