Goode Company Barbeque began in 1977 as a neighborhood joint drawing in patrons from all across the city with a craving for the restaurant's famous brisket. Soon after master fiddle player Leon "Pappy" Selph began attracting crowds to the restaurant, original owner Jim Goode's son, Levi, opened Goode's Armadillo Palace, creating a unique venue for good ole- Texas music and home-style comfort food with a Mexican twist. Today, Armadillo Palace is kept alive by loyal fans of the outstanding food and devotees of Texan culture. "It don't get any more Texas than this!"
